A Review of Calvin Klein’s Beauty Fragrance

Calvin Klein, as most people know, is a popular clothing line that in recent years, has dabbled in the fragrance market, in an effort (at least in part) to support its clothing line. Beauty is a departure from Calvin Klein’s previous perfumes, CK One, Escape Secret Obsession and Euphoria. Beauty’s predecessors had sweeter, frutier top notes. Beauty does not, this is in large part because the company was going after a different demographic, women 40 years and older. Calvin Klein’s aim was to harness and capture the spirit, self-esteem, maturity and of course beauty, of women in her 40’s. Whether or not it has done that, is up for debate.
CK’s Beauty comes in three sizes, 30, 50 and 100ml. Scented body lotions, bath and shower creams, each in 200ml quantities, are available as well. Beauty is a floral scent. It was inspired by the neo-Lilly or Calla Lilly with notes of ambrette seed, cedar and jasmine. Created by Sophie Labbe, the perfume’s fragrance is sophisticated, appropriate for a woman who is equally so.
Beauty won’t be suitable for every woman. Some people have complained that it is a bit restrained. It doesn’t jump out at you and it’s not necessarily complex. Women that prefer fragrances that are, probably won’t find Calvin Klein’s Beauty suitable for their tastes. Women that do enjoy simple smelling perfumes are likely to.
Beauty is a thoroughly feminine scent. It’s not harsh like many unisex fragrances and those that seem to border on it. The warm woody musk base is pleasant but not overpowering.
The “face” of Beauty is Diane Kruger. Kruger is a thirty-five year old former model and actress that has starred in a number of popular films, amongst them,
Troy, National Treasure and Inglourious Basterds. She is a fitting model. Many of perfume’s fans have noted that she perfectly embodies the fragrance’s essence.

Beauty is one of Calvin Klein’s most recently released fragrances. It differs a great deal from its predecessors, in large part because of who the company is targeting, women in their 40s. Beauty has white floral scent with a nice, woody musk base rather than sweet and fruity top notes like some of the company’s scents targeted at a more youthful audience. Beauty has a scent that is simple, feminine and sophisticated. It can be purchased in three sizes, 30, 50 and 100 ml and comes with scented lotion, bath and shower cream.
